Antologia Lucana is the result of a collaboration between Edilingua and the Lucanian Tourism Promotion Agency to explore and experiment with new ways of promoting the historical, scenic, and cultural heritage of Lucania. It is organized into ten chapters, each dedicated to a book by an author who, having come into contact with Basilicata, recounts its beauty, its tragedies, and its places. It is therefore an anthology—ten literary texts adapted for educational use to help students discover not only the richness of the region but also of the Italian language.

Antologia Lucana is aimed at students at levels B2–C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. It is a volume designed for those attending Italian language courses either in school or in extracurricular settings, who already have a solid knowledge of the Italian language.

The book aims to be a valuable study tool for students and a useful teaching resource for Italian teachers around the world, helping them discover this corner of Italy, a region in the South that is still largely unknown.

The authors of the selected literary texts are Lucanian, Italian, and foreign writers who have crossed paths with Basilicata and written about it—each from their own perspective and historical context. Each reading corresponds to one or more destinations to visit, along with language exercises, in-depth cultural insights, and curiosities about the featured locations. This is a volume for students and readers who wish to embark on a journey to discover a still largely unexplored Italy. A book to read for learning, for traveling, and for those who want to deepen their knowledge of the language and culture of our country.

Licence Duration

The code gives 30 hours of access* for 18 months to the units of the book. It will be possible to listen to the audio tracks, to insert texts, notes or images, to highlight and to use several tools available for the students (interactive grammar, glossaries etc.).

Moreover, the hours can also be used to access educational resources (tests, games, homework, blogs) sent by the teacher in the classroom of their own virtual classroom.

* Each time the student logs in, a timer records the time that passes by. To avoid consuming unnecessary time, the timer stops automatically after few minutes of inactivity!
